Prior to founding Human Code, President Chipp Walters co-owned the industrial design firm, Design Edge. Clients included Apple, IBM, Casio, and Toshiba. Design Edge used multimedia technologies as an integrated part of the design and presentation process. In 1990, they created DEMI, the Design Edge Media Integration group. After realizing the future of multimedia, Chipp Walters sold his interest in Design Edge and he and Liz Walters created Human Code, Inc. The Human Code team has been recognized over the past 5 years as pioneers with computer-based media development tools. In addition, Human Code members have also consistently supported the industry through lectures, seminars, journal articles, and interviews. In 1994, Human Code secured capital investments from Applied Technology and Austin Ventures. The Board of Directors include Applied Technology’s David Boucher, founder and CEO of Interleaf and Joe Aragona, General Partner of Austin Ventures--the largest venture capital firm in the Southwest. Applied Technology’s Nicholas Negroponte, the founder and current Director of M.I.T.’s Media Lab, will head up Human Code’s technical advisory board.
